What is Drifting?

Drifting is a technique of driving that involves the driver intentionally oversteering (putting the car into a slide or drift). This causes a loss of traction or grip to the rear wheels of the car and when the front wheels are pointing in the opposite way to the corner the car is able to slide around the corner.
Drifting is a hard technique to master as the driver must control how much the car slides and how much power to apply to the rear wheels to avoid spinning out. A drift is started by pulling the handbrake or dipping the clutch, both removing grip from the rear wheels.
